IROK Realtors Family Clean Up Campaign
Suva Point foreshore Friday 5th November, 2021
Part of our community and environmental outreach is to identify a prominent public recreational area for our clean-up campaign in 2021. During our clean-up which included staff, management and their respective families, our Managing Director of IROK Realtors, Anand Goundar was concerned about the large amount of rubbish collected from the Suva Point foreshore within four hours. Cleaning up the foreshore is an ongoing part of our corporate social responsibility and the amount of rubbish collected was concerning.
Our staff and families collected about 40 bags of rubbish from 7am to 11am, and this was mostly plastic containers and plastic bottles. Anand Goundar was deeply concerned that some people are irresponsible to the extent that they even dumped an old refrigerator, baby diapers and tyres along the foreshore. Therefore, he had urged members of the public to be responsible and join hands in cleaning the environment. He added that improper waste management do not only result in littering, but it also affects our environment and results in pollution. Our staff will be doing more cleanup campaigns in the future.
